Andrew Gonzales is a CrossFit Level 1 coach, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), Certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM-CPT), Certified Functional Movement screen member (FMS), Certified group fitness instructor and a Certified Zumba Instructor. Andrew attended Arizona State University were he received his Bachelors of Science in Exercise and Wellness in 2002.

Andrew is Currently the Physical Fitness Specialist for the Wassaja Memorial Health Center for Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. He has worked there for 8 plus years. He has taught a variety of group fitness classes, implemented a variety of health education programs, organized community health related events and has helped many individual patients improve their well-being and health through fitness. Before coming to Fort McDowell, Andrew was the Athletic Director/ Fitness Director for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale were he organized youth sports leagues and after school programming for 5 years. Andrew has always had a passion for Health and Wellness and being a positive motivator for others. Andrew was a state champion and an all state high school football player at St. Mary’s High school and also went on to play collegiate football.

Andrew was introduced to CrossFit more than 2 years ago. At that Time he would incorporate an occasional WOD (workout of the day) into his routine to help keep things fresh and challenging. It wasn’t until he joined Crossfit Desert Valley that he realized the full benefits of CrossFit. CrossFit became more than breaking a sweat and increasing his PR’s. It became a community of people pushing and encouraging each other. Andrew has always had a passion for Health and Wellness and CrossFit help fuel that fire allowing him to do what he loves.
